Sam Houston State Women's Golf Tied for Fifth at UAB

GULF SHORES, Alabama -- Nicole Budnik was tied for 13th to lead the Sam Houston State women’s golf team to a fifth place finish at the UAB Fall Beach Bash at the Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club.

Budnik led the way for the Bearkats, firing 75-74 at the 36-hole tournament, played on a 6,050-yard par-72 course.

Tulsa won the event, Louisiana Monroe was second, Austin Peay was third, Houston Baptist was fourth, and Southern Mississippi was tied with SHSU to round out the top five.

Alisa White was leading the way for the Kats early after firing a 74 in the first round. Her second round 76 had her tied for 18th.

Paige Nelson (75-76-151) was tied for 22nd, Abigayle Corson (80-78-158) was tied for 45th, and Brooke Fouts (77-82-159) was tied for 47th.

The Kats are done for the fall and will be back in action at the UTSA Oak Hill Invitational Feb. 9-10.
