COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The No. 2 Texas A&M women’s swimming and diving team will host North Texas for the final dual of the season Saturday in the A&M Student Recreation Natatorium.
The Aggies, 7-0-1 in dual meets look to close out their regular season with no losses before moving on to the Southeastern Conference Championships. The final home meet will be Senior Day for one of the most successful senior classes in school history. Barely scratching the surface of its many accomplishments, this senior class has five school records, three reigning conference champions, two defending NCAA Champions, and three Olympians.
With the SEC Championships as the next contest a handful of Aggies have conference-leading times. Those swimmers at the top of their event include junior Liliana Ibañez in the 200 free (1:43.75), senior Paige Miller in the 100 back (51.36), senior Breeja Larson in both the 100 breast (58.29) and the 200 breast (2:06.74), and senior Cammile Adams in the 200 fly (1:52.72). Holding onto the 200 free relay lead is the squad of senior Erica Dittmer, junior Sammie Bosma, Larson, and Ibañez (1:28.02).
Seven of the eight seniors will compete for the last time at the A&M Rec for a dual meet. The seniors being honored include Cammile Adams (Cypress, Texas), Erica Dittmer (Spring, Texas), Breeja Larson (Mesa, Ariz.), Melanie McClure (Mansfield, Texas), Caroline McElhany (Friendswood, Texas), Paige Miller (Caledon, Ontario, Canada), and Allyson Sweeney (Snellville, Georgia). Another senior, diver Jessica Macaulay, is competing at the Air Force Academy Diving Invitational this weekend.
Admission to Saturday’s meet is free. Live results and video stream will be available on AggieAthletics.com.
