AUSTIN, Texas -- Kennedy Farr and Jordan Locke combined to score 38 points as Smyer (33-6) defeated Dallas Triple A Academy 40-36 in UIL Class 1A Division 1 girl's basketball state semifinal action at the Erwin Center.
Farr finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds Thursday despite sitting out nearly nine minutes after picking up her fourth foul in the third quarter. Smyer led 26-13 when Farr went to the bench and Triple A Academy went on a 9-0 run.
The 6-foot-2 Farr and 5-foot-10 Locke, who finished with 17 points, dominated the paint for Smyer. Shelby McCullough and Lexie Fowler sank free throws in the final 1:24 to secure the win. Smyer won state titles in 2010 and 2011.
Amber Browning led Triple A Academy (28-6) with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
