The Buccaneers ended the 2013 season one victory shy of their fifth consecutive NJCAA National Championship appearance, falling to the Paris Dragons in the Region XIV Tournament semifinals with a 34-20 overall record.
The Aggies welcome five freshmen, as well as sophomore transfer Katie Marks, to the team this year. Marks (Katy) returns to her home state after her freshman season at South Carolina. New to college softball are Abby Donnell (Wichita Falls), Reagan Boenker (Bryan), April Ryan (Keller), Suzanne White (Richmond) and Celena Massey (Bulverde). No stranger to the team, but taking to the field for the first time since transferring from Texas and completing her redshirt requirement will be junior Rachel Fox.
Returning to action for the Aggies are an award-winning, eight-player senior class, four juniors and five sophomores. All-American and All-SEC selection Cali Lanphear looks to continue her record-breaking career as a sophomore as Nicole Morgan hunts for another NFCA All-Region first team award.
Texas A&M ended the 2013 season at the NCAA Super Regional level, marking its 24th trip to the NCAA Tournament and its 12th under Evans. The team also earned its eighth 40-win season with Evans at the helm, and started the season at a program-best 19-0.
