BRYAN, Texas -- An ace performance by Matt Lopez carried the St. Joseph Eagles to a 5-1 win in seven innings over Tomball Rosehill Christian School on Monday at SJS Complex.
Lopez was in control on the hill. Tomball Rosehill Christian School managed just two hits off of Lopez, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his seven innings of work.
Ty Gibson racked up three RBIs on one hit for the SJS Eagles. He tripled in the fourth inning.
Tomball Rosehill Christian School scored its only run of the game on a sacrifice fly by Caleb Barbato in the third inning.
The SJS Eagles stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the fourth, scoring four runs on a three-run triple by Gibson and a wild pitch.
