COLLEGE STATION, Texas The Texas A&M football team was on the practice field for about two hours Tuesday night. The Aggies are close to wrapping up preseason camp. The team will hold their final two-a-day practice on Wednesday and then begin preparations for their first opponent on Thursday. The Aggies will open the 2013 season against Rice on August 31.

Texas A&M's preseason depth chart has 17 players that are new to the team or were redshirted last year. Two of those players are transfer running backs. Oregon transfer Tra Carson has been taking part in preseason practice. Oklahoma transfer Brandon Williams has missed time in preseason camp with a boot on his foot. Aggie head coach Kevin Sumlin said after practice Tuesday night he is more concerned about Williams being ready for the season than being ready for the opener on August 31st. "If he is ready to go he is ready to go. If we feel like from a medical standpoint it is best to hold him we will hold him. Our other back have been doing a really good job. Between Ben (Malena) and Tra (Carson) and Trey (Williams) those guys are above adequate, pretty god backs. (Brice) Dolezal played for us last year a lot. I am more concerned with him being involved in 10 or 11 games than I am in am in one game."

Ben Malena ran for 808 yards last season and 8 touchdowns. Trey Williams rushed for 376 yards and 5 touchdowns. Quarterback Johnny Manziel led the Aggies in rushing last season with 1,410 yards and 21 touchdowns.
