COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas A&M equestrian junior Laura Sumrall was selected to the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) All-America Honorable Mention team for reining, the NCEA announced today.
Sumrall (Summitt, Miss.) led the Aggie reining team with an 8-2 record this season, her only losses coming against top-five opponents. The junior also posted a 5-1 mark in SEC action, and holds two of the Aggies’ top five reining scores over the 2013-14 season, both against top-three opponents.
Earlier this spring, Sumrall was also honored by Equestrian Magazine, as she was featured on the publication’s 30 Under 30 list for her endeavors in the sport.
This is the first NCEA All-America honor for the Mississippi native, who was selected to the All-SEC Equestrian team for the first time in her career last season.
