Two Texas A&M students including a member of the Aggie Football team found themselves behind bars over the weekend after police say they displayed guns in two separate road rage incidents.

Defensive Lineman Kirby Ennis has been suspended from the team pending an investigation.

He's a 300 pound, 6 foot 4 defensive lineman for the Aggies starting 11 times as a junior last season.

But now 22-year-old Kirby Ennis is making headlines for a weekend arrest in College Station.

He's accused of misdemeanor disorderly conduct after police say he got into a road rage incident Friday afternoon when one car pulled into the other's lane.

"Both drivers got angry at each other and then that ultimately led to the suspect pulling out a handgun and displaying it to the calling party," said Officer Phil Dorsett with the College Station Police Department.

Ennis said he was driving his girlfriend's car and was trying to move the gun she'd left inside the car.

But police say there were inconsistencies.

Texas A&M Associate Athletics Director Alan Cannon released a statement saying, "Texas A&M officials have been made aware of the arrest of football player Kirby Ennis and according to athletics department policy he is immediately suspended from all team activities pending further investigation."

He tells us no timeline has been set on when a final decision will be made.

Then early Sunday morning another A&M student Benjamin Waggoner was arrested after a road rage incident that started at a red light in Bryan.

Police say the 22-year-old Waggoner displayed a 12 gauge shotgun that had been sawed off to less than 21 total inches.

The victim followed him to a College Station gas station where he was arrested for felony possession of a prohibited weapon, because the modified gun wasn't registered.

"Drivers just need to be patient, that's the main thing. Realize that you don't know who the other person is in the car," suggested Dorsett.

Both Ennis and Waggoner are out of jail after posting bond.

Police do not believe weapons were actually pointed at the other drivers in either incident.

News 3 called both Kirby Ennis and Benjamin Waggoner.

Kirby declined an interview request while Waggoner could not be reached for comment.

As of Monday afternoon Ennis and Waggoner were currently enrolled at Texas A&M.
