COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M volleyball team will compete in two tournaments and host a match during its spring season, Aggie head coach Laurie Corbelli announced.
The Aggies open their spring slate at the Rice Tournament, Saturday, March 29 in Houston. Other teams participating in the one-day tournament to be held at Tudor Fieldhouse are Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, and TCU.
On Saturday, April 5, A&M returns to Houston to compete in the F.A.S.T. Collegiate Invitational at Reliant Center Hall E. Other teams participating in the one-day tournament are Baylor, Houston, Houston Baptist, Louisiana Lafayette, North Texas, Oklahoma, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, SMU, Sam Houston State, Texas, UT-Pan American, UTSA, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas Southern.
The Aggies conclude their spring schedule with a home match against the Houston Cougars on Wednesday, April 9. The match will be played in the volleyball practice gym at Reed Arena, and the start time is to be determined. Admission is free.
Corbelli returns 11 letterwinners -- including five starters -- from last year’s team that went 19-12 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament. In addition, she welcomes highly touted freshman setter Stephanie Aiple. The Round Rock High School product enrolled at A&M in January and is training with the team.
