COLLEGE STATION- No. 19 Texas A&M hosts No. 16 LSU in a pivotal SEC women's basketball game at Reed Arena on Sunday. This game is the Aggies' annual BTHO Breast Cancer effort.
This game is televised on FSN, with Dave Baker and Daymeon Fishback on the call. Fans outside of the SEC footprint can also watch the game on ESPN3. As always, the game is available for Aggie fans to listen to on 1150 AM KZNE and all across the Texas A&M Sports Network.
The Aggies are looking for a home-away sweep over LSU, which would be the Aggies' first regular season sweep since joining the SEC in 2012-13. Courtney Walker hit an 18-foot jumper with 40.8 seconds to go that gave A&M a two-point lead in the first meeting, a 52-48 win in Baton Rouge. Walker's shot capped off a 9-0 Texas A&M run that saw the Aggies come back from a seven point deficit with just 5:09 to play.
The Aggies have been paced by Karla Gilbert over the past three games, as she has averaged 18.7 points and 10.3 rebounds since Jan. 26. She had a career-high 26 points at Vanderbilt in the Aggies' last game, including a three-point play that tied the game with 10.2 seconds to play. Tavarsha Scott-Williams also shined in the Aggies' previous game, going 7-of-7 from the field to set career-highst of 14 points and nine rebounds.
LSU has faced the nation's toughest schedule, and has performed admirably to the tune of an 18-5 record. The Lady Tigers are also 10-1 at home, with their only blemish so far coming at the hands of the Aggies. LSU has won four of its last five games, and picked up a win at Tennessee earlier in the conference season.
After this game, the Aggies host Georgia on Feb. 13 at 7 p.m., a game which is telecast by Fox Sports Southwest.
