Carthage, Texas (KLTV) - Carthage football likes to do things in 3's.

They recently won three straight state titles.

Now they've had an Army All-American three straight years.

"I don't know how many schools can say they had three Army All Americans, especially three in a row." said Bulldogs head coach Scott Surratt. "That's pretty special. We're not getting used to it. We want to get more, more and more."

Surratt was referring to Edward Pope and Kendall Thompson, who represented Carthage in the 2012 and 2011 games, respectively. Pope is a freshman receiver at Texas A&M, while Thompson is a sophomore linebacker at Texas.

Bulldogs defensive lineman Isaiah Golden joined the list today as he was selected to play in the 2013 US Army All-American Bowl.

The Texas A&M commit will join 90 of the top high school seniors in the country, January 5th in San Antonio.

Golden will get to showcase his skills on national television with the nations elite.

"Very surprised. I didn't think I was ever going to go to anything like that before." said Golden. "I always said I wanted to go and never thought I would. I get the chance, I've got to shine."

Golden has racked up 67 tackles this year, including an amazing 31 for loss.

Carthage faces Silsbee in the 3A Division I Quarterfinals on Friday at 7:30 in Lufkin.
