Bombers Welcome Back Four

By  |

The Brazos Valley Bombers are proud to announce the returning of four juniors from last years record breaking team. With such an accomplished 2012 season the Bombers are looking forward to a strong and experienced 2013 team. Juniors Brannon Easterling, Derek Mazzio, Andrew Hohn, and Brad Vachon will be the returning juniors for the Bombers 2013 season. After witnessing the successful impact these teammates created for the Brazos Valley Bombers last summer, the Bombers are confident that these players will be nothing but beneficial in helping bring the Brazos Valley its first TCL title this season.
Born and raised here in College Station, this will be Junior Brannon Easterling's 3rd season with the Brazos Valley Bombers as he looks to impress and enhance his already successful Bomber career. As a pitcher, Easterling has an impressive background not only with the Bombers, but on the collegiate level as well. At Temple Junior College he was named a 2010 Fall Region V JUCO All-star, 2010 first team all-conference, and helped lead the team to a Region V championship as well as an appearance at the NJCAA JUCO World Series. Easterling then transferred to Texas Tech University and was a red-shirt sophomore where he appeared in 4 games on the mound for the Red Raiders. Easterling now pitches for St. Edward's University with their opening game to be played today against UA Fort Smith.
Junior Derek Mazzio will be joining us here in Texas once again this summer from St. Louis, Missouri. Mazzio made 11 appearances out of the bullpen for St. Louis University. With the Bombers last summer, he posted a 1.92 ERA with 30 strikeouts and 42 innings to round out an impressive 2012 season for the Bombers.
Missouri Tiger, Andrew Hohn is bringing his experience and talent to the American Momentum Bank Ballpark once again this summer and we could not be more excited for this young man's return to the Bombers. Hohn is from North Little Rock, AR and attended The University of Arkansas Little Rock for his first two years of collegiate baseball where he tied for the team lead with 24 appearances as a true freshman and ranked second on the staff with a 4.11 earned run average. As a Brazos Valley Bomber he had an ERA of 1.02 with 21 strikeouts and 17.2 innings pitched.
Originally from Round Rock, Texas, Brad Vachon returns for another outstanding season to come. The junior pitcher started his collegiate career at Cisco Junior College, where he helped lead the team to an appearance at the NJCAA World Series. During the regular season he went 21 consecutive innings without giving up a run. With the Bombers Vachon had an ERA of 1.57 with 19 strikeouts and 23 innings pitched.
The Bombers start their season on the road against the Acadiana Cane Cutters on May 30th. Opening day at American Momentum Ballpark will be on June 4th versus the Woodland Strykers.
