HUMBLE, Texas -- While the results were what he was hoping for, Clay Wonnell said competing in the Shell Houston Open was a dream.

Competing in his first professional tournament, the Miramont Country Club Assistant Pro, fired an 82 today after an opening round 81 on Thursday.

Clay started off today's round with a double bogey 6 on the par 4 10th hole. He was able to get one of those strokes back on the 13th with birdie 4 on the par 5. Wonnell rolled off four straight pars before double bogeying the 18th with a six. His two round total was 163.

While he made the turn with a 39, he was able to par the next five holes coming to the par 4 6th. He bogeyed the hole and that opened the flood gates as 3 double bogies followed.

Steve Wheatcroft is the leader after 36 holes with a five under par 134.
