Yates Leaving Aggies After Two Seasons To Return To Alma Mater

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas A&M secondary coach Marcel Yates has decided to return to his alma mater to become the defensive coordinator for the Broncos, Boise State and Aggie head coach Kevin Sumlin announced today.

“We wish Marcel and his family all of the best as they return to Boise,” Sumlin said.

Yates graduated from Boise State in 2000 and after coaching the 2001 and 2002 seasons at Montana State, he returned to Boise State to serve as an assistant coach. He coached in the secondary from 2003-11 before accepting a position on Sumlin’s first Texas A&M staff in 2012.

Yates will coach the Aggie secondary through the Chick-fil-A Bowl (Dec. 31).
