News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest Classroom Champion, Tiffany Williams. The Calvert High School senior has a 3.2 GPA, and is currently the valedictorian of her class.

Tiffany is the Team Captain for Lady Trojan basketball team. And she's also a member of the volleyball and track teams. In basketball she was selected to the All-Area Team. In track Tiffany is a State Champion in the 400 meters. She's also a State Runner-Up in the 100 meters and a 3rd place winner in the State 200 meters. Tiffany was also an All-District selection in Volleyball. Academically, she's President of the Student Council, a member of the National Honor Society, FFA, UIL Academics, and the yearbook staff. Tiffany is very active in her community...She and the Student Council host an annual Breast Cancer Awareness walk, where they raise money for cancer patients and survivors.

"Tiffany is a hard worker. She comes to class om time everyday; gets her work done. Gets along well with the other students. Never have any problems from her and I can always rely on her. I've never noticed a difference when she is out late playing a game than when she hasn't been. She comes to school she gets her work turned in on time; she makes good grades. I don't notice a difference when she's playing sports and when she isn't."

"She works extremely hard on the basketball court. We're actually able to play Tiffany a complete ball game. Let her play almost every minute of the game. You know she's a trackster....But she's up and down that court the full ball game. When we're in practice she leads every wind sprint that we run, every yo-yo that we run, she's out front. Every drill that we do she's in first or she's in first place; and she leads the rest of the team. Everything she does she does it hard and leads by example."

"My mother motivates me; she always tells me to work hard in everything that I do, never give up. Always be determined to be number on in everything, just work hard. Being a leader is not easy. Being the president of the student council I have to always lead by example whether Im having a bad day or not. I have to lead always because you never know who's looking. In the classroom I'm very determined. I work hard, so that leads to me working hard an being determined in basketball. I practice hard and I want to lead in everything that I do."

After high school, Tiffany wants to go to college to run track, and get a degree in Kinesiology.

Congratulations to Tiffany Williams of Calvert High School. This week's News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
