BRYAN, TX -- The A&M Consolidated Tigers won a Bi-district championship last week after beating Klein 42 - 24, up next in the Area Round of the UIL State Football Playoffs is Austin Westlake.
The Tigers have already beaten the Chaparrals once this season - so there's some familiarity on both sides. Consol Head Coach David Raffield knows both teams have improved and the 2nd round of the playoffs means it won't be easy.
"I don't know if like it or dislike it," said Raffield. "I enjoy playing good football teams, well coached football teams that force you to get better as a football team. We will be better Friday just playing Westlake. I'm not going to back away from them and excited to play them."
The Tigers beat the Chaparrals 35-17 back in September at Tigerland - the rematch will be Friday at 1 at W-I-S-D Stadium in Waco.
