It was a battle between two familiar foes as A&M Consolidated faced off with Westlake in the second round of the Class 5A Division II playoffs in Waco.

The Tigers came into the game favored but it didn't take long for Westlake to take momentum in the game.

After their first series, the Tigers punt attempt feel victim to a low snap that Westlake recovered. Just a few plays later, the Chaps had an early 7-0 lead when Westlake offensive lineman Judge Finley fell on a fumbled ball in the end zone.

The Tigers would have their second punt attempt blocked by Westlake setting the Chaps up with nice field position for the second straight possession. But the Consolidated defense clamped down and held Westlake to a field goal.

Unfortunately turnovers would lead to more points for Westlake as the Chaps built a 17-0 lead in the second quarter. Consolidated's only points would come off a muffed snap on a Westlake punt that would roll to the back of the end zone for a safety.

Westlake defense simply shocked and awed the Consol offense which was held scoreless for the first time since October 9th, 2009 when they were shut out against Belton.

Westlake goes on to win 45-2, ending the Tigers season with a 9-3 record on the year.
