COLLEGE STATION, TX -- The A&M Consolidated Tigers will close out their regular season Friday night on the road against the Conroe Tigers.
Head Coach David Raffield and the Tigers clinched a playoff spot last week with their 28-7 win over Oak Ridge, but have more to play for than momentum on Friday.
A win gives Consol a share of the 14-5A district title. What they don't want to do is stub their toe in their regular season finale and have to think about that loss for 2 weeks as they prepare for the post season.
"We get a chance to play for a share of the district title this week," said Raffield on Wednesday. If we win we'll share it with whoever else is still there. You do not want to go into an open week with a loss at any point in time especially going into the playoffs."
After playing 10 straight games, the Tigers will rest up and heal up next week before opening up the first round of the playoffs November 11th or 12th.
