COLLEGE STATION, TX -- The A&M Consolidated Tigers (8-2) will open up the first round of the UIL Class 5A State Football Playoffs Friday night against the Klein Bearkats (6-4) at Woodforest Bank Stadium in Shenandoah. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
A&M Consolidated will be the designated visiting team after tying for first place in District 14-5A with Lufkin and The Woodlands with a 5-1 record.
The Tigers are the district's top seed in Division II over Lufkin because of a point differential tiebreaker. Klein (6-4) tied Spring Dekaney for third place in 13-5A with a 5-3 mark.
The winner of the Consol-Klein game will advance to the area round to face either Austin Westlake or Pflugerville Hendrickson at Waco ISD Stadium next Friday (November 23) afternoon.
