Brazos Christian Comeback Falls Short in State Championship Game

CORSICANA, Texas -- Dallas First Baptist Academy jumped out to a 21-0 lead and held off a big Brazos Christian rally to claim the TAPPS Division III state football championship 35-21.

Brazos Christian also trailed 28-7, but cut the lead to 14 just before the half on a Kenny Honnas touchdown run. The Eagles pulled within 28-21 in the third, but could not get any closer.

Brazos Christian wraps up the best season in school history with a 12-1 record. This Eagle squad is the first to reach the state championship game in football.
