Brazos Christian Wins Football "Holy War" over St. Joseph 36-28

BRYAN, TX -- The Brazos Christian Eagles (7-3) picked up a 36-28 win over St. Joseph (5-5) Friday night at the Glockzen Family Athletic Complex.

This is the fourth straight win for the Brazos Christian School
Eagles in the annual "Brazos Valley Football Holy War".

Brazos Christian opens the game with a 10 yard touchdown run by Gentry Gayle for an 8 nothing lead after the two point conversion.

St. Joseph will answer, Luke McClure finds a seam and takes it right down the middle of the BCS defense for the 10 yard touchdown run. The two point conversion ties the game at 8.

Brazos Christian will regain their 8 point advantage on a 48 yard touchdown pass from Gayle to Justin Duewall.

But Luke McClure and the St. Joseph Eagles will answer. Tres Todd on the receiving end of the McClure touchdown pass to tie the game at 16 at the half.

Brazos Christian out scores St. Joseph 20-12 in the second half to win the Brazos Valley "Holy War" bragging rights 36-28 for a 4th straight year.

Brazos Christian advances to the playoffs with the win, the loss cost St. Joseph a trip to the post season this year.
