BREMOND, TX -- The Bremond Tigers (4-0) stayed perfect on the season thanks to a 28-14 win over Burton (3-1) at Tiger Stadium.
The Panthers entered the game ranked 3rd in the state in Class 1A, but took a while to get on track.
Bremond scored on its opening possession, Harrison Hull takes it in from 3 yards out. The point after was missed and Bremond lead 6-0.
The Tiger defense then took over and kept the Panthers from putting together any solid scoring drives until midway through the second quarter, Juwan Mathis scores from 3 yards out and the point after puts Burton up 7-6.
With the players and fans having to deal with a horrible mosquito problem in Bremond, the OFF didn't dry on Burton Head Coach Jason Hodde's face before the Tigers were knocking on the door and ready to regain the lead.
Hull will score from 3 yards out to put Bremond back up 12-6. Tiger Head Coach Jeff Kasowski elects to go for two in hopes of extending the Tigers lead to 14-7.
Bremond quarterback Cade Grych with the conversion pass to who else, Hull to extend Bremond's lead to 7. In the second half Bremond will find the end zone two more times and go onto beat Burton 28-14.
The Tigers will travel to Axtell next week, while the Panthers will be off on Friday (September 28th) and return to action the following Friday (October 5th) when they'll host Flatonia in its final non-district game.
