BREMOND, Texas -- Bremond overcame a 14-0 deficit to beat rival Chilton 21-14 in overtime Friday night to claim the District 12-1A Division II championship.
Chilton dominated the first quarter, putting two Charles Simpson touchdown runs on the board to grab a 14-0 lead.
The Tigers got on the board just before halftime when Cady Grych threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Evan Sargent to make it a 14-7 game.
Bremond scored on their first drive of the third quarter to tie it up when James Jones went in from five-yards out.
The game went to overtime tied at 14. Bremond got the ball first and scored on a 12-yard Jones run and stopped the Pirates to pick up the win.
Bremond finishes the season 10-0, 3-0 in district play. The Tigers have a first round playoff bye.
