BRYAN -- The Bryan Viking football team will be on the road Friday night to face former district rival Belton. The Tigers beat Bryan last season 39-17 when the schools were part of district 12-5A.
The Vikings won their first game of the season last week beating Magnolia 19-7. It was the first win for Ross Rogers as the head coach at Bryan.
When looking ahead to Belton Rogers said the Tigers are similar to Waco Midway who beat Bryan in the opening week of the season. "They have good athletes at a lot of positions. Offensively and defensively they present good athletes. They have been winning and they were a playoff team last year and they certainly beat us last year while we were in district play with them so it's a challenge and we would like to see how much we have improved from week one."
Bryan and Belton will kick-off at 7:30 Friday night at Tiger Field in Belton. You can see how the game turned out by watching Taco Bell's Friday Football Fever at 11:35pm on KBTX.
