HEARNE, Texas -- The Buffalo Bison got a blocked punt and touchdown pass late in the second quarter to take a 14-7 lead over Hearne and went onto pick up a 21-13 win at Wood Field.
Bison will score on their opening possession of the game. Otillia Garcia with a 31 yard touchdown run to give Buffalo a 7 to nothing lead.
Hearne will answer. After converting a fourth and five inside their own 40, Eagles Head Coach Clinton T. Smith rolls the dice on 4th and 7 from the 19. DeVanta Jefferson with a touchdown catch to tie the game at 7.
It stays tied until late in the 2nd quarter, Kyle Read comes up with the blocked punt for the Bison.
Buffalo nearly squanders the opportunity.
But on 4th and 7 from the 29, Logan Jones hits Tyler Adams on the "go" route.
The state qualifying high jumper demonstrates his skills getting both feet in bounds after outrunning the coverage. What made the catch even more impressive is that Adams was playing with a broken wrist.
Both teams will trade touchdowns in the second half and go onto win it 21-13.
Buffalo returns home next Friday to host Centerville in a battle for I-45 bragging rights in Leon County.
