College Station claims first football win in school history

COLLEGE STATION -- The College Station High School football team made history Thursday night beating The Woodlands JV 46-13 for the first win in program history.

The Cougars jumped out to an early 7-0 when Cole Whittlesey hits Drake Carnes with a 41 yard touchdown pass. College Station pushed the lead to 14-0 on a Whittlesey one yard sneak for a touchdown. Nicholas Kennedy capped of the first quarter scoring with a 47 yard touchdown run to make it 21-0 Cougars.

College Station continued putting up points in the second quarter. Cullen Smith's two yard touchdown run extended the Cougar lead to 27-0. The Woodland only score of the first half came on a Joseph Hnath 26 yard touchdown reception.

Whittlesey got the Cougars back on the scoreboard in the third quarter with a four yard touchdown run. College Station would not look back from there rolling to the 46-13 victory.

The Cougars will return to action September 21 when they face Austin St. Michael's at home.
