SHENANDOAH, Texas -- The A&M Consolidated Tigers beat Klein 42-24 Friday night in a Class 5A Division 2 bi-district playoff game at Woodforest Bank Stadium. The Tigers are now 9-2 on the season.
Consol started the scoring with 14 yard Weston Garner touchdown pass to Kerry Thomas. An Othello Gibson four yard touchdown pass would put Klein on the scoreboard. The Bearkats would take a 14-7 lead on David Hamm 36 yard touchdown run.
The Tiger would get a four yard touchdown run from Xavier Jones to tie the game at 14. The Consol defense would put up the next touchdown. DJ Jackson picked up a fumbles and ran 28 yards for a touchdown to put the Tigers up 21-14. Klein would tie the game at 21 on a Hamm nine yard touchdown run.
Consol would jump in front on a third quarter touchdown pass to Weston Garner to Derrick Dick. The Tigers would not trail again in the game.
Consol will face Austin Westlake in the area round of the playoffs. That game will be played November 23 at Waco ISD Stadium.
