WALLER, Texas -- The Hunstville Hornets came into Friday nights game hoping to avoid one thing, a first round loss in the playoffs.
Coach Shane Martin's team looked good in the first quarter despite falling behind 7-0, the Hornets answered back when quarterback Malik Brown connected with Kaleb Branch for the 26 yard touchdown to tie the game.
Then the defense forced two turnovers but the Hornets were unable to turn them into points.
Manor would lead 21-7 at the half but once again, defense would get the Hornets back into the game. After a Malik Brown rushing touchdown, the defense scored on a fumble recovery to tie the game.
But that's all the points Huntsville could manage. Manor would go on 26-0 run to end the game as the Mustangs move on with a 47-21 victory. Huntsville ends the season with a 7-4 record.
