Mike Mullins resigned as head football coach at Harker Heights on Tuesday. Mullins has accepted the offensive coordinator position under Lee Fedora at Navasota. Mullins resignation is effective on June 30.

Fedora said, "That's a wow hire. I'm excited to have him as part of the staff."

Mullins went 4-7 this past season, leading the Knights back to the postseason for the first time since 2005. Harker Heights fell to No. 1 DeSoto in the 5A bi-district round 62-15. Mullins went 14-27 in his four years at the school.

Prior to coaching at Harker Heights, Mullins served as head coach at Cameron Yoe from 2003-2009.

His coaching record is 95-86-1 and his teams have reached the playoffs 11 times.
