BRYAN, Texas -- The Rudder Rangers will be on the field at Merrill Green Stadium Friday night to host Huntsville in a District 18-4A game. Both teams are looking to bounce back from losses in their district openers last week. Rudder lost to Magnolia 42-23. Huntsville fell to Montgomery 44-20.
The College Station Cougars (3-0) will be on the road Friday after beating Aldine Davis last Friday 30-25. Cougars will travel to Austin on Friday to take on TAPPS powerhouse St;. Michael's. A year ago the Crusaders posted a 14-1 record and made it to the state semifinals. One of those wins was over the Cougars in College Station 42-0.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 at St. Michael's High School in Austin.
Rudder head coach C.M. knows his team will have to play well against a Hornet squad that has good athletes. "We have to come out make big plays and limit their big plays because they have that potential to go yard at any time so we have to be steadfast on our keys and run to the ball."
The Rangers and Hornets will kick-off at 7:30pm Friday night.
