BRYAN -- The Rudder football team will open district 18-4A play Friday night against Magnolia at Merrill Green Stadium. Kick-off is set for 7:30pm.

The Rangers are 0-2 on the season after losing to El Campo 55-26 last Friday. Magnolia enters the game 1-1 on the season after falling to Bryan 19-7 last Friday.

The Rangers will face a challenge on both sides of the football Friday night as they look for their first win of the season. Rudder head coach C.M. Pier says the Bulldogs will run a variation of the spread offense. "The quarterback is a player, both tailbacks are pretty good. They have a real good offensive line." Pier also talked about the Magnolia defense. "They have nice size out there, they run a 3-4, got a big nose guard that can play so we have our hands full there. The things we have to do is play our ball."
