BRYAN -- The Bryan Vikings will close out the non-district portion of their schedule Friday night when they face Pflugerville Hendrickson at Merrill Green Stadium. The Vikings have not played a home game since facing Waco Midway on August 31.
Bryan is coming off a 42-16 loss to Belton last Friday. The Vikings suffered some injuries in that game. Offensive lineman Ty'Van Hearne and Zac Jones will both miss the game against Hendrickson. Linebacker Zac Slaydon will also miss the game with a knee injury. Bryan head coach Ross Rogers called the injury a strain and said hopefully Slaydon will be back in a week or two. Quarterback Chris Johnson suffered a concussion against Belton and will also be out of action against Hendrickson. V.J. Banks is expected start at quarterback.
Rogers will now have a chance to see different players on the field with the injuries. "We have a chance to look with a new quarterback, a different quarterback and some different offensive lineman. We are just trying to tweak things and see if we can get the ball in the end zone. We have not been very good in the red zone."
Bryan and Hendrickson will kick-off at 7:30 Friday night. You can catch a recap of the game on Taco Bell's Friday Football Fever at 11:35pm on KBTX.
