CENTERVILLE, Texas -- The Tigers have high expectations once again, and with eight starters back on both sides of the ball they could be playing December football in 2014. Centerville also drops a classification, which should only help them as they look to win a district title and go deep in the playoffs.
“We have high expectations for the season,” said Hardee. “We hope to fill some holes from a JV that went 8-1-1. That being said, we need to stay healthy and focused on our preparation each week.”
Cade Harris and Jordan Can-non split time at quarterback last season and will do so again in the Tigers Multiple Wing attack. Tulley Pickens and Trevor Goolsby are a great one-two punch in the backfield, and they will have three returning starters on the line in Kenny Searcy, Kyle Harris, and Tyler Trant.
The Tiger defense will have a pair of returning starters on the line in Carson Wakefield and Christian Wellman, three linebackers, including leading returning tackler Kyle Harris, and three starters back in the secondary, led by Chance Carrigan who had five interceptions a year ago.
Hardee said, “With a veteran team returning, I feel that our team will understand the importance of preparation each week. I’m confident that our team will play a physical brand of football each week.”
