4th Ranked Franklin Beats Anderson-Shiro In 4 To Extend First Place Lead

ANDERSON, Texas -- The Franklin Lions beat Anderson-Shiro in four sets 14-25, 26-24, 25-15, 25-23 to extend their first place lead in District 24-2A.

After dropping the first set, Franklin won the next 3 to claim the match in 4 sets.

Carey Casey lead Franklin with 12 kills, while Krista Stickney had 10. Kadie McCullogh added 32 digs, while Karley Mitchell and Maddie Nelson each had 15 assist.

Franklin improves to 29-5 overall while Anderson-Shiro falls to 23-15.

The Owls got 9 kills and 5 blocks from Crystal Serres while Brennan Imhoff had 7 kills, 20 assists, and 17 digs. Ashton Washington added 7 kills, 2 blocks, and 13 digs. Kelsey Coronado had 7 kills, and 9 digs while Taylor Mason rounds out the stats for the Owls with 16 digs, and 3 aces.

Anderson-Shiro plays at New Waverly on Friday at 4:30, while Franklin heads to Centerville for a 5:30 match against the Lady Tigers on Friday.
