COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The 2014 State 7-on-7 Tournament returned to College Station Thursday. Division two pool play got underway at 1:00pm. Three area teams were in action.
Navasota began the tournament with a 46-19 win over Quanah. The Rattlers then knocked off Rice Consolidated 48-7. Navasota closed out pool play with a 35-25 win over Abilene Wylie. The Rattlers won Pool P to advance to the championship bracket. Navasota will face Pilot Point Friday morning at 9:00am.
Crockett will join Navasota in the championship bracket. The Bulldogs won Pool F with a 2-1 record. Crockett beat Argyle 26-22 and Dublin 40-27. The Bulldogs' only loss was to Sealy 20-18. Crockett will face Booker Friday morning at 9:00am.
Rockdale is headed to the consolation bracket after going 1-2 in Pool I. The Tigers beat Marion 34-27 but then lost to Canton 33-27 and Brownwood 44-25. Rockdale will face Lorena Friday morning at 8:00am.
Division one pool play will begin Friday afternoon. A&M Consolidated will face Arlington Seguin at 1:00pm. College Station will take on El Paso Franklin at 2:00pm. Montgomery will play Creekview at 2:00pm.
