COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Day two of the 7-on-7 State Football Tournament wrapped up Friday evening. The event will come to a close on Saturday.
A&M Consolidated started the tournament with a 27-26 win over El Paso Franklin. The Tigers then lost to Ridge Point 20-19 but closed out pool play with a 33-7 win over Veterans. The 2-1 record in pool play was good enough to put the A&M Consolidated in the championship bracket. The Tigers will face Seven Lakes Saturday morning at 9:00am.
College Station High started pool play with a 41-28 loss to El Paso Franklin. The Cougars bounced back to beat Lake Dallas 51-33. College Station wrapped up pool play with a 12-6 loss to Manvel. The Cougars will face Cedar Hill in the consolation bracket Saturday morning at 8:00am.
Montgomery opened the tournament with a 54-31 win over Creekview. The Bears then got past Stratford 30-21. Montgomery won their final game in pool play 26-21 over Sharyland. The Bears will face Cy Fair in the championship bracket Saturday morning at 9:00am.
Texas A&M commit Kyler Allen led his Allen team to a 3-0 record in pool play. The Eagles will face Austin Bowie in the championship bracket Saturday morning at 9:00am.
Navasota and Crockett played in the division two championship bracket today. After a 34-31 win over Pilot Point Navasota lost to Graham 46-40. Crockett opened the day with a 26-24 win over Booker but then lost to Prestonwood 40-34. Graham beat Prestonwood 47-45 to win the division two state championship.
