A&M Consolidated defeated Boerne Champion 6-0 Thursday night. Stephen Schlett went 2 for 2 at the dish with a double, three RBIs, and a walk. Derrick Dick went 2 for 2 with an RBI, scoring two runs. Tyler Landers also added a double to the 10 hits Consol had on the evening.
Kyle Barfield went the distance on the mound to get the win for the Tigers, only allowing three hits. Of 70 pitches, 48 were strikes; and of the 20 batters he faced, he threw 14 first-pitch strikes.
Consol won a nail-biter against Pflugerville, as the Tigers were one run and one hit better than the Panthers even with two errors.
Derrick Dick had two hits on the night and Kyle Barfield's solo homerun stood as the lone run of the game.
Jared Herrmann threw 53 pitches for strikes of the 89 pitches thrown. Exactly half of his 24 batters faced received first pitch strikes, and his defense recorded seven ground-outs and five fly-outs.
The Tigers now hold a 5-2 record, and will play Friday in the New Braunfels tournament. San Antonio O'Conner will be the first opponent at 12 noon, followed by Seguin at 7 p.m.
