COLLEGE STATION, Texas The A&M Consolidated football team moved to 2-0 on the season with a 44-41 win over Waco Midway Friday night at Tiger Stadium.
Kobe Miller and Derrick Dick hooked up for a pair of touchdown passes in the first quarter helping the Tigers build a 28-7 lead after one quarter. The Tigers would push the lead to 34-7 before Midway gets rolling. The Panthers would cut the Consol lead to 37-20 at the half.
Midway would take their first lead of the game in the fourth quarter. Ben Hicks hit Raydell Watley with a touchdown pass to put Midway in front 41-37. The Tigers would respond with a Miller pass to Daniel Zivney down to the Midway one yard line. Miller would score on a one yard run to put Consol ahead for good 44-41. Tiger head coach David Raffield was happy with his team after the game saying "They never, never, never, never give up as Winston Churchill would say. This is a great football team that loves to play the game."
Consol will be on he road September 13 in Austin to take on Westlake.
