BRYAN, Texas -- Glen West picked up his 150th victory as head coach of the Cubs as Brenham ran away from Rudder 48-24.
The Cubs (6-1, 5-0) led 35-3 at the half and held on for the win.
Brenham scored first on a short Jordan Graves touchdown run, then got a defensive touchdown when Taylor Shepard forced a Brady Batten fumble that Erik Yeager recovered in the end zone for a 14-0 first quarter lead.
A Rudder (0-8, 0-6) field goal cut the Cub lead to 14-3, but Brenham scored three more touchdowns on a Walter Thomas run, a Earnest Patterson run, and a 16-yard Caleb Hill to James Homan touchdown pass before the half to build the big lead.
Brenham returns home next Friday to host Magnolia.
Rudder will hit the road to Willis.
