Brenham, Tx- Thanks to a big second quarter the Brenham Cubs improve to 2-0 in district with a 27-0 win over Waller.
A rainy Friday night moved the game to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Cub Stadium.
Neither team scored in the first quarter, but Brenham’s offense could not be stopped in the second. Quarter Back Caleb Hill got things going with a 40 yard pass to Courtland Sutton, setting up Earnest Patterson for easy points. Patterson ran in the 3 yard touchdown to give Brenham the 7-0 lead.
Brenham scores again when Hill hands the ball off to Tyler Watts who took it to the end zone on 20 yard touchdown run building the lead to 14-0.
Later in the second quarter Tre’Markes Smith got in on the scoring action running in a 10 yard touchdown, but after the missed extra point the Cubs lead 20-0.
The final touchdown of the game came at the end of the second when Hill launched a 40 yard pass to Watts who carried it in to the end zone. Brenham went up 27-0 and they held on to that lead until the end.
Brenham (3-1, 2-0) is off next week with a bye.
