BRYAN, Texas -- The Bryan Lady Viking softball team had to push their season opener against Palestine back a day because of Tuesday's weather, but the cool temperatures Wednesday evening didn't slow down their hot bats.
Bryan scored 5 runs in the first inning on their way to an 18-0 win over the Palestine.
Rebecca Peirce recorded 10 strikeouts on the evening. Ashleigh Perez went 2 for 2 at the plate with a triple and two RBIs, along with scoring twice herself. Madison Goolsy also went 2 for 2 with two RBIs and scoring twice. Mary Kate Walker went 1 for 2 with one RBI, scoring once. Bryan played 19 players throughout the game, all of whom recorded two at-bats.
Bryan will play host to the BCS tournament starting Thursday. They'll take Denton at 3pm at the Viking Athletic Complex.
