BRYAN, Texas- The Bryan Vikings and A&M Consolidated football teams will host their home openers on Friday.
A&M Consolidated will host Midway at Tigerland Stadium, while Bryan will face Magnolia at Merrill Green Stadium.
Last week the A&M Consolidated Tigers scored on the final play of the game against Copperas Cove to beat the Bulldawgs 44-41 while the Vikings lost their season opener 38-7 to Waco Midway. Magnolia dropped their first game of the season 43-21 to Galena Park. For Bryan to pick up a win Friday night head coach Ross Rogers feels his team needs to cut down on mistakes from last week. ""We started off with kicking game woes and it got us in the hole."
As for the Tigers, Head Coach David Raffield said his team has always played the entire 48 minutes and last week was no fluke that, "All eleven guys were playing until the final whistle against Cove proving that it's never over til it's over."
Bryan beat Magnolia 19-7 last season. That was Rogers first win as the head coach at Bryan. Kickoff for Friday night's game between Bryan and Magnolia is set for 7:30pm
A year ago A&M Consolidated lost to Midway 34-27. Kickoff at Tigerland is 7:30.
The College Station Cougars will be on the road tomorrow night battling the Reicher Crusaders in Waco. Kickoff there is set for 7-30
The Rudder Rangers will be in El Campo tomorrow night looking to rebound after last weeks 49-3 loss to Elgin.
