BRYAN, Texas -- Both the Rudder Rangers and College Station Cougars got beat last week and will be looking to bounce back Friday night.

The Cougars will hit the road to take on Tomball Christian. College Station is coming off a 21-16 loss to Jasper. After giving up three first half touchdowns, the Cougar defense posted a shutout in the 2nd half, while the offense scored twice.

"I think the defense played in the second half probably as good as we've played since we've been here the last two seasons," said College Station Head Coach Steve Huff. "I thought having the shutout in the second half and forcing them into six punts was big for our defense. So we're really proud the way they played the second half."

The Rudder Rangers will be returning home to Merrill Green Stadium to host the Brenham Cubs. Rudder is coming off a 17-3 loss to Waller.

Kickoff at Merrill Green Stadium is set for 7:30. The Brenham - Rudder game is the KBTX Big Game Friday Night Feature Game. Fans will have a chance to watch the complete game including the halftime performances by both bands and drill teams on three separate occasions over the weekend on the KBTX family of networks.

It will air Saturday afternoon at 2:30 on the CW-8. Then Saturday night at 10:35 following News 3 at 10 and the final airing will be Sunday night at 9:30 on the CW-8.
