HOUSTON -- College Station scored four runs in the top of the third and never looked back on their way to a 9-1 victory over Silsbee in the 3A Region III championship series Thursday night.
The Cougars led 4-1 in the fourth, but the Tigers had the bases loaded with no outs. However, MacGregor Hines came in and struck out the side to end the Silsbee threat.
College Station added five more runs in the fifth to put it way. Baylor Rowlett hit a two-run home run to help seal the deal.
College Station is now headed to the 3A State Tournament Wednesday at either 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. at Disch Falk Field.
