College Station High School Finishes 2nd in UIL Lonestar Cup

COLLEGE STATION, Tx - The College Station High School athletic program finished second in the state in the 2013-2014 UIL Lonestar Cup, given annually to the top overall athletic and academic programs in Texas.

In 2013-2014, the Cougars captured numerous team and individual championships at the state, regional, and district level. College Station HS has quickly created a championship tradition and established itself as one of the premiere overall programs in the state. Below is a list of some of the 2013-2014 athletic accomplishments at


- Girls Cross Country: 2013 State Champions
- Baseball: 2014 State Champions, Ranked #1 in state entire season
- Powerlifting: 3 Individual State Champions
- Girls Powerlifting: 2014 State Runner-Up
- Volleyball: 2013 State Semi-Finalist
- Girls Track: 2014 District & Regional Champions, Individual State Champion
- Girls Soccer: 2014 Regional Finalist
- Wrestling: 5 Individual State Finalists
- Tennis: 2014 Regional Champions, Individual State Champion
- Boys Cross Country: 2013 State Qualifier
- Boys Basketball: 2014 Bi-District Champions
- Boys Track: 2014 District Champions
- Girls Basketball: 17 wins in 2013-2014
- Football: 6-3, 2014 will be first year in UIL
- Boys Soccer: 2014 Playoff Qualifier
- Softball: 2014 Playoff Qualifier
-One Act Play: 2014 State Runner-up, District/Area/Regional Champions
-Academic team: 2014 District and Regional Champions, 4th in state, several individual state champions
-Band: 2013 UIL Region 8 - Division I Rating, 4 Individuals to All-State Band

According to the UIL website, Cameron Yoe (2010-2011) is the only Brazos Valley school that has finished higher since this contest began in 1997. This is a great accomplishment for any school, especially one competing in just its second year of existence and still without a senior class.
