BRYAN, Texas — College Station's Nick Bradham won the boys singles title and Kyle Miller and Noah Jean won the boys doubles title at the 3A Region III tennis tournament Tuesday. They all advance to the state tournament at the Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station April 28.
Bradham beat Robinson's Jacob Wingate 6-4, 6-3 in the regional championship match after a win over Sweeny's Cody Briggs (6-2, 6-2) in the semifinals.
Miller and Jean defeated Adam Reeves and Alec Lucas of Center in the regional final.
The College Station girls double's duo of Sandhiya Ravichandran and Lillian Ford will play at state, but lost Groesbeck's Staci Nish and Hadley Heiner 7-5, 6-4 in the regional final today. They defeated Robinson's Kayla and Savannah Hill-Johnson in playback to advance to state.
Groesbeck will also send a mixed doubles team made up of Caitlyn Harlan and Tyler Flatt to state. The Goats, coached by Tyson Stewart, will have a representative at state tennis for the 26th consecutive season.
Caldwell's Ecaroh Jackson is also state bound in girls singles after a regional runner-up finish. She fell 6-3, 6-1 to Kristina Johnson of Lufkin Hudson in the championship.
