CALDWELL, Texas - The Franklin Lions beat the Caldwell Hornets 49-14 on a soggy night at Hornet Stadium.
Franklin scored first on an 11 yard Morgan Brewer touchdown run. It was one of three touchdown runs by Brewer to go along with 133 rushing yards. The Lions would build a 28-0 halftime lead.
Caldwell would get on the scoreboard in the third quarter. Joseph Crnkovic threw a 12 yard touchdown pass to Jonathan Jackson to cut the Lion lead to 35-7 but the Hornets could not come all the way back.
Stephen Commander would score the final touchdown of the game. He ran for 163 yards and two touchdowns.
Franklin will return to action September 27 to face Austin St. Micheal's. Caldwell will be off until October 4 when they take on Giddings.
