BRYAN, Texas The Bryan Vikings lost to The Woodlands Highlanders 21-14 Friday night in a District 14-5A game at Merrill Green Stadium.
The Highlanders scored the first touchdown on the game in the second quarter on a Chris Andritsos one yard touchdown run. Bryan found the end zone later in the second quarter on an Antwone Wallace 35 yard interception return for a touchdown but the extra point was no good. Bryan trailed 7-6.
The Highlanders pushed the lead to 14-6 following a Sterling Scott six yard touchdown run. Bryan answered with an amazing 31 yard touchdown catch by Darius Ross where he held the ball against his helmet in the end zone. The Vikings were successful on a two point conversion to tie the game at the half.
The Highlanders scored the only touchdown of the second half in the third quarter on an Andritsos 18 yard touchdown run. Bryan would get the ball deep into Highlander territory in the fourth quarter but Tyler Murphy knocked the ball loose from Corey Johnson. Kade Markle recovered the fumble at The Woodlands six yard line.
Bryan will return to action November 9 when they close out the season on the road against College Park.
