COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Tigers return five starters on each side of the football and should be in the mix for a district title in 2014.

Mason Hickson is next in line at quarterback for the high-scoring Tiger offense, and he will have two great receivers to throw to in Derrick Dick and Daniel Zivney. However, the offensive line will need work. “We will have four new varsity starters,” said head coach David Raffield.

The Consol defense struggled at times a year ago, but has a chance to improve. Texas A&M commit Riley Garner is one of three starters back at linebacker, the unit that should be strongest for the Tigers. Raffied expects the team to have three new starters in the secondary.

The Tigers, who “drop” a classification, are the preseason favorites in 18-5A and should make it ten straight seasons in the playoffs. “The new district is very equal and there should be exciting football,” said Raffield. “We want to play December football.”
