HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- The Hornets quest for a sixth consecutive trip to the playoffs will be aided by what could be a fantastic offense.

All-district quarterback Malik Brown is back for his senior season with a pair of talented wide receivers in Christain Champine, and Morie Evans to throw to. Three linemen are back, but Sam Houston State bound tackle Forrest Reedy will be hard to replace.

The Huntsville defense has five starters returning, and with Josh Woodard, DaCuan Jenkins, and Cody Garcia back the line looks to be the strength. Mike Pena is the only starter back at linebacker, and Trent Bell will have to bring experience to the secondary.

The district schedule favors the Hornets this season, as they will get to play 18-4A co-favorites Montgomery and Brenham at home after losing to them on their home fields in 2012. Huntsville has the talent to return to the postseason and, if young players can plug some holes, a district championship is not out of the question.
